Heidi Allen MP welcomes £100 million investment to deliver a new children's hospital at Addenbrooke's Hospital

Heidi Allen MP has welcomed the announcement from the Department for Health and Social Care that up to £100 million is to be made available to fund the Cambridge Children’s Hospital scheme and deliver a Children’s Hospital at Addenbrooke's together with University research in one site.

The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock MP made the announcement on the 7th December as part of a £1 billion investment in capital funding across the NHS.

Commenting on this announcement, Heidi said: "This is fantastic news. Addenbrooke's have been championing this for a long time now and I am delighted that this investment is coming to Addenbrooke's. We all know that Addenbrooke's is a centre of excellence and this new children's hospital will enable them to continue to provide their first class care in a new purpose built hospital for children."

Details of the funding announcement are set out in Matt Hancock's letter (below).
