The government, this week, published its response to the consultation on driving offences and penalties for those who cause death or serious injury. I was delighted with the response which recognised that dangerous driving wrecks lives and deserves the maximum penalty.

Highways England have advised me of this week’s A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme’s planned closures which include the A14 eastbound between St Ives and Bar Hill, as well as A1 closures with diversions onto the A1198.
Highways England last week installed a temporary bailey bridge over the A14 near Swavesey. The temporary bridge will allow contractors to move material across the A14 to build the north side of the new Swavesey junction without taking vehicles on the A14.
