On the 13th November, the Greater Cambridge Partnership launched its consultation on the Cambourne to Cambridge better bus journeys scheme. The consultation focuses on the first phase of the scheme which is a bus route between a new Park and Ride to the east of Cambourne and Cambridge.
The consultation contains two options for the location of the Park and Ride scheme and three options for the proposed bus route.
It is proposed to locate the Park & Ride site at Scotland Farm, which is located at the junction of the A428 and Scotland Road, Dry Drayton or The Waterworks, located at the junction of St Neots Road and the A1303 Madingley Road, near the 'Madingley Mulch' roundabout.
The bus route proposals are:
Option A (previously known as option 1) - An on-road option which includes the introduction of a bus lane on Madingley Road between the Madingley Mulch roundabout and Lady Margaret Road.
Option B (previously known as option 6) - An on-road tidal bus lane on Madingley Road running between the Madingley Mulch roundabout and the new entrance to Eddington (High Cross).
Option C (previously known as option 3/3a) - An off-road busway running between the Madingley Mulch roundabout and Grange Road, Cambridge.
Full details of the consultation and how to contribute are available here
In addition, there will be public events throughout the area and further details are available here
Heidi said, “It is vital that local people make their voices heard and contribute to the consultation. Infrastructure improvements are important to us all not only for providing congestion solutions but also delivering continued strong economic growth in South Cambridgeshire. I welcome the news that the consultation has opened. I have outlined my concerns about aspects of the plans in the past and I encourage residents to have a look at the consultation documents and to have their say.”
